India–US Trade Pact Could Unlock a $30 Trillion Opportunity for Indian Exporters

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal announced that an interim trade agreement between India and the U.S. will open a $30 trillion market for Indian exporters, particularly MSMEs, farmers, and fishermen. This pact, reached under PM Modi's leadership, will lead to reciprocal tariff reductions by the U.S. to 18% on various Indian goods, and zero tariffs on items like generic pharmaceuticals and aircraft parts. The agreement is expected to boost exports, create jobs, and enhance the 'Make in India' campaign, while also safeguarding India's agricultural and dairy sectors from import competition.
